We’re the political arm of the nation’s largest online racial justice organization, committed to building communities of Black voters and allies in places with critical District Attorney races. By empowering our communities with the tools and information to cast game-changing votes for elected officials, we can help improve the criminal justice system. And we will let District Attorneys know that Black people will hold them accountable after Election Day.

District Attorneys have an enormous impact on Black communities. They have the power to decide who gets prosecuted and the severity of each prosecution. That’s why voting in these elections is crucial. If a crooked District Attorney wins an election, they can use their power to increase conviction rates in a jurisdiction through preying on low income Black folks. For example, DAs have the power to set unaffordable cash bail on Black folks, even after reviewing their financial situations.

You might be wondering: ‘So, if District Attorneys have so much power over our communities, why aren’t most of them reforming practices that hurt Black people?’ The answer’s simple. Crooked District Attorneys over arrest Black folks to create revenue for their jurisdictions. ‘Tough on crime’ legislation will never protect Black people, especially when over 92% of all elected District Attorneys are white in the United States. That’s why we’re voting for issues that matter in our communities.
